You take your watch off after a long day and your wrist is throbbing. It is a frustrating problem. Watches are meant to be enjoyed, not endured. If your daily wearer is causing you actual pain, something needs to change. Let's look at why this happens and how you can fix it.
There are usually two reasons your wrist hurts at the end of the day.
First, your watch might just be far too heavy for your wrist. A massive steel sports watch looks great. However, it can easily fatigue your arm if you are not used to the weight.
The second and much more common issue is the crown. If you wear your watch low down near your hand, the crown will constantly dig into your skin. Every time you bend your hand back during your day-to-day activities, the hard metal case hits the top of your hand. That gets quite painful very quickly.

The fix is incredibly simple. You just need to change where the timepiece sits on your arm.

Wearing your watch slightly higher makes a huge difference. It gives your wrist complete freedom to move around. You can flex your hand back fully without the crown biting into your skin. This stops those annoying red marks and prevents you from causing any minor injuries to the top of your hand.
Your watch should feel like a natural extension of your arm. If you constantly notice it digging into you, it is sitting too low. Try shifting it up slightly tomorrow morning. You will likely find it much more comfortable by the time you take it off at night.
